A Bhriana, tá brón orm é sin a chloisteáil faoi na cait, tá sé an-dian peata a chailleadh. Tá an ceart a'd gur gá dhúinn scíth a thógáil. Tugann sé níos mó fuinnimh dho dhuine freisin agus tá sé riachtanach dhon tsláinte.

Go raibh maith agat, a Bhriana! I read your post in the Gaeilge version, with difficulty. I got the sense of it, but a lot of the vocabulary escaped me, alas. I learned Irish at school in the 1940s and 1950s, when the teaching of Irish was of an appalling standard. Got my Internet and Leaving certs in the language but didn’t learn it properly or learn to speak it at all well. That was 70 years ago, so I don’t dare try to write anything in Irish. I still revere the language as part of my culture, though.

Maith thú, Tom. Glad you gave it a go, even if it wasn't easy. It doesn't matter how much Irish we have, but how much we use what we do have. Keep using the words you do have and know and enjoy them! :)
