Tùrsachd, cianalas, bròn,... (In Scottish Gàidhlig.) English, by contrast, has just one word for that range of discrete feelings. It isn't a weakness of Gaeilge, but on the contrary a more developed vocabulary. Whether that causes or is the result of more refined distinctions is a moot point.
